Spanky
A 3rd generation native Montrealer, Spanky Horowitz has been eating for over 3 decades.
Aside from his amateur food foilings, he was restaurant critic for the Montreal Mirror from the late Twentieth Century into the new Millenium. After resigning from the Mirror, Horowitz took a 6 month sabbatical in the south of France, where he ate lots of cheese and sausage.
When he is not eating food, Spanky takes pictures of it. His food photography has been exhibited in several cities, as well as in ‘Canadian Art’ magazine and the National Post. You can see some of the things he has eaten, or would like to eat, at www.spankyhorowitz.shutterfly.com and www.spankyfood.shutterfly.com.
In his spare time, Spanky plays music (www.myspace.com/spankyhorowitz) and does translation and consulting for various organizations, including Pharmacists Without Borders.
He was also voted one of Montreal’s best masseurs in the Montreal Mirror’s “Best Of Montreal” 1998.
