Lions! and Seals! and Elephants! OH MY!
Every once in a while, I come across a sweet find. This weekend I was at Home Sense in Kelowna I came across these beauties and almost squealed out loud. Circus animal pancake molds.
They came in a pack of 3 for about $12. There is an elephant, a lion and a seal with a ball on his nose. They are non-stick and pretty sturdy.

I just whipped up a batch of my fav pancake mix and filled em up!
I was worried about the tails and such breaking off when I removed the molds, but it is really good non-stick. They turned out beautiful!
Due to some careless flipping on my part, the seals ball fell off his nose
But after dressing them up in some butter and syrup,
they were more than enough to WOW my little man at the breakfast table.
He ate the whole plate worth!
*burp*

We got a set of Airplane, Firetruck, and Train Engine molds at Williams Sonoma in the ’states a couple of years ago - but in spite of them being ‘non-stick’, they are really hard to release (sad face) .. we ended up dipping them in oil prior to setting them in the pan (yuck). Any other advice?
I also have the coolest waffle iron ever - it has farm yard animal shapes (cow, pig, chicken, barn)! They make breakfast a ton of fun. Even without kids!

Veg girl: I totally understand about the “non-stick” thing. I dont trust it. I used a little light cooking spray on mine adn they popped right off. its defintly a better choice than dunking in oil…. although, I have to admit, I am a sucker for crispy edges on my pancakes!

I got worried when I saw the title and thought of “loin” shaped pancakes. Oh, lions. That’s different. : 0

Hey I think there’s an idea here for an adult breakfast bar - loin shaped pancakes, french kiss toast, lots of whipped cream and of course the fried eggs and sausages take care of themselves

My partner is 52 and loves pancakes.
Sometimes the 52 is more like 5 + 2 ……. you can add.
These would go over really big if I did it as a surprise. KJ
